Remi Casty: Super League Dream Team 'Yes Papa!'

Remi Casty has led Catalans Dragons to the Challenge Cup final, helped guide his side to Super League safety and made the Super League Dream Team, ‘Yes Papa!’

It’s been a good year for Casty who walked onto the world-famous Camp Nou last week at half-time. His side paraded the Challenge Cup to over 80,000 fans during the interval of the La Liga match between Barcelona and Girona.

“After this year, for me it’s like a cherry on the cake. When you play Rugby League, you play for winning something as a team and with your teammates – we’ve done that.

“It was just amazing, unbelievable, to present the Challenge Cup to the Barca fans in front of 80,000 people who are cheering us.

“For two months, it’s been incredible what’s happened to the club.

“We’ve stuck with it this year.

“To be in the Dream Team, it means a lot because as a player you make a lot of sacrifices and a lot of work to achieve something like that and although you play for the team, you like to have a reward like that.”

A year on from battling in the Million Pound Game to secure Super League safety, the tough-running prop and his team mates can relax knowing they’ll be competing in Super League next year, but they won’t be resting on their laurels.

“When you win a trophy, you want to do it again and you want to win more.

“We’ll keep the same team next year and we’ll add some great players like Sam Tomkins.

“It could be a big year, but we know how we won the Challenge Cup and how we stayed in Super League.

“It’s because we worked very hard all through the year, we worked very hard, so we’ve got this in our minds and we have to work again. The challenge is to do it again.”
